Best Van Lines v. Walker, Civil No. 03-6585, 2004 WL 964009 (S.D.N.Y. dismissed May 4, 2004), aff’d, Civil No. 04-3924, 490 F.3d 239 (2d Cir. June 26, 2007).
Status: Dismissal affirmed.

Best Van Lines, a New York-based moving company, sued Iowa resident Timothy Walker over comments that he posted on his www.movingscam.com website, asserting that Best was operating without required legal authorization or insurance. The federal court in New York dismissed the case on the grounds that Walker had insufficient contacts with New York for the suit to be brought there, and the 2d Circuit Court of Appeals agreed.
