Woody v. Carter, No. CL08003192-00 (Va. Cir. Ct., Montgomery Co. filed May 1, 2008).
Status: Motion to dismiss granted, petition for appeal denied, No. 090189 (Va. April 10, 2009).

Christiansburg, Va. developer Roger Woody sued four women who he claims are behind the Think, Chrstiansburg! blog (www.thinkchristiansburg.com), for comments about a large dirt pile near his developments. Only two of the women sued were involved in the blog: one of the other woman sued runs a separate blog, Depot Dazed (www.depotdazed.com), which has not commented on the issue, while the other defendant claims not to do any blogging. The court granted a defense motion to dismiss the case on Oct. 14, 2008; the plaintiff filed a petition to appeal, which was denied.
